Analysis Questions for Position Statements

  1. Who is speaking? How do they represent themselves?

  2. What subject is the position statement about?

  3. What position does it take on the subject?

  4. What sub issues are broken out?

  5. What is the opposing view? Is it represented at all? If so, how? If not, why not?

  6. Does it make reference to outside sources? If it does, what use are they put to? If not, why not?

  7. Does the position statement include a direct action suggestion? If so, what does it consist of?
