Ephesians, Lesson Four

Dale Sullivan

Ephesians, Chapter 3: God's Prisoner and the Mystery

  1. Verses 1-13. These verses tell us about several things.

What do they tell us about Paul?

What do they tell us about the mystery?

What do they tell us about God the Father?

What do they tell us about God the Son?

What do they tell us about the angels?

  2. Verses 14-21. These verses are the second prayer in the letter.

What do we learn about God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit?

What requests are made on our behalf?

Consider the end of chapter 2. What were we told about our new condition there? What are we are part of?

If we are a temple, is it possible that Paul is dedicating the new temple here? Look for clues in the prayer that he might be doing that.

If the first prayer back in chapter 1 requested two kinds of knowledge, what does this prayer request?

If the first prayer preceded a section that tells us who we are, what kind of section does this prayer precede? Why is the new request appropriate?
